Boxer Rehoming

He is a typical ex-working dog who hasn’t adjusted to home life yet so will need an experienced and very understanding owner to help settle him in slowly. He needs an adult only home in a rural setting, where he is the only pet in the home. Kimi is a lovely girl once she knows you, but can be unsure of new people. She is a big puppy who is looking for a forever home with an owner who understand her breed. She likes a fuss on her own terms and enjoys belly tickles. Kimi is obsessed with her toys and will certainly always have one in her mouth.

Rescue groups carefully screen potential families (with adoption applications, homevisits, & adoption applications for those who actually pass). Most rescue groups use foster homes....it gives them the chance to see what type of home is best suited for that particular dog. If your mom can't afford to have the dog neutered and brought up current on vaccines - the local boxer rescue group in Colorado will still take him. There would be an owner surrendar form that needs to be filled out. You would need to check with that particular group to see who actually needs to sign the form....you or your mother.

Conan is just adorable - and looking for a home

I’m still a bit shy with new people, but once I warm up, watch out! My foster dog brothers are super fun to play with, and I would like to be in a home with another dog. I would love to help out financially but like I said we already have two dogs, a cat and three humans that are living off of one salary and a military one at that. Not to mention I have to come up with the money to get my own dog spayed on the first. My mom would never place any of her animals into rescue it's just not something she believes in.

Please don't lecture me about it, I really have no say about that being as I live 1000miles away. I totally agree about getting him nuetered and I have tried to tell her he would be better off but she doesn't have the money and I don't have any to lend her. Unfortunately, this is only a small proportion of the work that breed rescues perform. Many of the dogs we are asked to help come to us because the owner is looking for help, or to rehome a dog whose needs are not being met in their current situation. The dog is too boisterous, or pulls too much, or is scaring the family, or doesn’t get on with other dogs, or is scared of visitors…. Sadie’s new home should be an active one … active in a way that includes her.

Breed: American Staffordshire terrier mix

We’re two sweet little muffins that have so much going for us. First off, chihuahuas are known for being a low-maintenance dog breed. Second, doggy experts say chihuahuas are one of the longest-living dog breeds, and we have a clean bill of health. It’s hard to imagine, but we weren’t very loved in our last homes. We have each other now, and thanks to the love and patience our foster mom has shown us, we are ready to open our hearts and embrace a new family.

But what all shelter dogs have in common is a yearning for a fresh start in a loving forever home. They pay you back with doggy kisses and snuggle sessions. Yet the benefits of adopting a shelter dog go beyond gratitude (as seen in these incredible before-and-after dog adoption photos). Check out these adorable dogs that need homes right now, and give one a second chance to live its best life.

Breed: Australian cattle dog mix

This is Monty he has been with us for nearly 7 years and rarely gets asked after sadly. Poor Monty has a hunched back which the vets think was caused by his previous owners keeping him in a crate that was too small for him for a long period of time! Because of this he does have bad trust issues so would need someone who can help show him that not everyone is bad. Actually, Monty only wants one loving owner, he doesn't want to share and can become very jealous which may lead to him being aggressive.

A fenced backyard where I can hang out and run around safely is a must, and human roommates 10 years and up would be best, because I’m not always aware of my size. Since I’m part Belgian Malinois, I’m a fantastic jumper. But unless you want me scaling your fence, you’re going to want to make sure it’s at least 6 feet high. That’ll give me room to run and jump without going over the fence. There are some really cool videos online of dogs like me climbing very tall fences, so I will need supervision! Living with little kids or cats wouldn’t be a good idea because of my rambunctious energy, but I might be up for a doggy sibling.

Breed: Maltese mix

Even though my stunning white dog breed has been around since 1928, I wasn’t recognized by the American Kennel Club until 2020. I kind of give off a large-and-in-charge vibe to people who don’t know me. I’m not unfriendly, just naturally protective of my humans.

I've just moved to Germany and I'm looking forward to finding a part-time activity that will give me fulfillment in helping someone and make me happy at the same time. I thought caring for your beloved pet was the answer, as I am myself hoping to adopt one day a dog here in Germany and I am thrilled to be surrounded by them. So, I think dog-sitting is the best fit for me. Our PetBacker sitters come from a diverse range of backgrounds and many are professionals in the pet care industry themselves. We have pet sitters that range from vets and nurses, to dog trainers and rescue volunteers. With such a wide range of skill sets, you are sure to meet a sitter that will meet your dog’s needs.

Adopting shelter dogs into your family

Buddy is a gorgeous boy looking for a very particular home. Buddy needs to be rehomed to someone who lives on their own - no children or other pets- that has experience with dogs with some behavioural trust issues. It would need to be a quiet home with someone who does not’t have many visitors. He gets very possessive and protective of his owner and doesn't want any harm to come to them. He absolutely LOVES his food and will do anything for a nice treat so this is a way to win over his trust and to help build a bond.

A dog’s tail gives you clues to its emotions. I show my excitement and love by constantly wagging my tail and wiggling my butt. Speaking of emotions, my humans can’t believe how intuitive I am. I can sense what you need, like when you’re craving a cuddle or want to play. With one look into my big brown eyes, you’ll fall hard and fast for me. As a duchess, I might be considered snooty and pretentious, but nothing could be further from the truth.

If you are not able to spare the time to help the dog adjust, then please think carefully before you offer to take a rescue Boxer. How does he get along with kids, dogs, cats? We have 2 kids and he gets along great with them.

I have a polite bark for when I need to go potty or when I’m hungry or thirsty. I’m the ultimate cuddler and love to nestle in as closely as possible, whether with my humans or doggy friends. My foster family says my name suits me to a T.
